Here is my first podcast! At least, the first one that I actually uploaded. In it I discuss the ups and downs of implementing a
website for students who have high absenteeism or need extra help and can't or won't attend after school tutoring. Please click
here to hear my dulcet tones.
Sounds like things are off to a great start. Hand-written notes are a good idea...you want to make sure that all students (or other teachers) are comfortable with how the technology is presented. It is cool that you are teaching other teachers! Way to go. Good luck the rest of the way. I'm looking forward to seeing the final project...
ReplyDeleteScott-
ReplyDeleteSeems like your Wicked Project is causing quite a stir in you school! I am happy to hear that your students are embracing Weebly, and trying to use it to their advantage. You mentioned that some students still prefer hard copies of how to's or notes ect. You might want to think about creating a step by step resource as you add more and more to your website. You could then give each student a binder with hard copy notes of how to navigate through your website. If you created this resource as you go, it will be less work for you in the end. Nice job! Sounds like it is a great resource for your students, and the fact that other teachers are inquiring about it is a real accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself and your technology endeavors.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteIt seems there were some tech difficulties with your recording, the listener is only able to hear the first ten seconds or so. I look forward to hearing about your project in the final blog post.
Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteI can only hear a few seconds of your pod cast. I think I had the same problem. I had to go to the settings tab in Blogger and make sure I was able to "add enclosure links". It worked like a charm!

Hi Scott, I’m glad you have received some positive feedback from other teachers, students and boss, that’s good. I can see why your tech department wanted to have you focus on Moodle. I’m a CMS user, but I like the flexibility of your website better. So kudos to you for trying something new! Have you gotten any parent feedback? I’m really curious about that. Also, isn’t it interesting that some students like video and some still like the old fashioned document? I think it is great that you have actually had some FUN with the project. It shows in your site, there is a very friendly tone to it, with fun pictures and the poll multiple choice answers cracked me up. Humor can go a long way in the classroom and simply in our day to day life.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Kathy
